Stürtz Moving to New Facility

May 13, 2009

Stürtz Machinery is moving to a new manufacturing facility at the end of June. The new site in Twinsburg, Ohio, offers a larger manufacturing plant floor and overhead crane capacity, which was lacking in the supplier's current location in nearby Solon, Ohio.

Unlike the current Stürtz facility, the new location was built specifically as a manufacturing plant.

The new facility offers approximately the same square footage, but it features a wide open 21,000 square foot shop floor with two main bays, each serviced by an overhead crane. Two recessed loading docks will make shipping and receiving more efficient during the busy months, officials note.

“After 12 years of working out of the same facility, it’s going to be a big change for us,” states Ellis Dillen, Stürtz vice president, “but we have been looking for almost two years and finally found what will prove to be a more suitable location for our operation. The original plant was a renovated commercial and warehouse facility that was modified to fit our needs as much as we could. The new facility was originally built as a manufacturing facility. It also offers easier access to I-480 and the Ohio Turnpike than the Solon location.”

The supplier of vinyl window equipment is now progressing with plans for the move, which is scheduled for June in order to get Stürtz settled in prior to the traditional fall increase in business. “This summer move should be the least disruptive to our production and to the needs of our customers,” Dillen notes.
