Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency published a notice in the Federal Register requesting public comment on government regulations that are deemed too costly or deemed to inhibit job creation, among other factors, according to a release from the Window and Door Manufacturers Association. The request for comment is in response to an Executive Order signed by President Trump in February dealing with the Administration’s intention to examine regulations.

That Executive Order directed federal agencies to establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to evaluate existing regulations and “make recommendations to the agency head regarding their repeal, replacement or modification.” Among other purposes, the Task Force is intended to identify regulations that eliminate jobs or inhibit job creation, are outdated, unnecessary or ineffective, and impose costs that exceed benefits. Comments must be received on or before May 15, 2017.
