2013 Most Efficient List Out

April 22, 2013

The Energy Star program has released its list of windows that have qualified for the Most Efficient 2013 designation.  More than 30 manufacturers have product lines meeting the criteria for the new program, designed to recognize the highest-performing residential windows available on the market.

Criteria for the Most Efficient program are significantly more stringent than Energy Star.  In addition to requiring a U-factor of 0.20 or less, the new program requires that windows be certified under the North American Fenestration Standard/Specification (NAFS) to document air leakage, water leakage, and structural performance. They must have a NAFS Performance Grade (PG) of 15 or higher.
