Robust Growth Predicted for Residential Construction Starts

ConstructConnect released its Q4 2017 Forecast Quarterly Report, which predicts robust growth for the residential market. “Out to 2021, residential will be the main driver of total construction starts, recording year-over-year increases of nearly six percent or more,” says Alex Carrick, chief economist, ConstructConnect.

The report registers 2017 total starts at 7.9 percent, with residential rising to 10.1 percent, and single-family residential starts reaching 8.8 percent. Predictions for 2018 forecast total starts slowing to 4.8 percent, with residential starts at 6.7 percent.
