A new study, “Energy Efficient Windows Market—Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth Trends, and Forecast 2015–2023,” released by Transparency Market Research, predicts continued expansion in the energy-efficient window market. The study segments the market based on glazing type, double and triple low-emissivity, as well as geography.

TMR makes these predictions about the global market, which the report expects to reach $286.5 billion by the end of 2016 and $479.9 billion by 2023:

  • Double glazing windows will continue to be the most popular type, expected to earn $345.81 billion in revenue by 2023.
  • 58.41 percent of global energy-efficient windows volume will be consumed in North America by 2023.
  • 3.13 billion square meters of energy-efficient windows are expected to be installed by 2023.

TMR reports that demand for energy-efficient windows has grown globally with greater support from both governments and private investors. The expanding market is driven in part by regulatory reforms in countries such as China, Russia, the United States and most of Europe, which aim to cut carbon footprint levels by as much as 40 to 45 percent by 2020.

In North America, most of the current demand for energy efficient windows is generated by consumers replacing conventional windows. The assessment of energy efficient windows in the U.S. is conducted by the National Fenestration Rating Council.
