After almost six months in development, Veka officially launched its new educational initiative, Veka Academy. The pilot launch was held at the company’s corporate headquarters in Fombell, Pa. and a limited number of local fabricators and Veka employees were invited to participate.

Veka Academy: Windows and Doors - Foundation for Success was developed to cover key aspects of the fenestration industry. The seminar is designed for entry to mid-level sales, production, engineering, purchasing, marketing and management personnel who are interested in learning more about the window and door industry. Seminars are taught by industry professionals who have decades of experience. Presenters from within and outside of Veka are highly rated speakers at events such as AIA, AAMA and AMI’s Profiles.

The two-day agenda is a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience. Key topics such as testing and labeling, EnergyStar, u-value, impact, condensation, colors and green building codes are presented in detail. It also offers participants a behind-the-scenes look at Veka extrusion and all of the processes that lead to the products fabricators use each and every day.

Class sizes are small, enabling instructors to spend time answering questions with as much detail as possible. The company has plans for two more events this year as well as a preview and promo debut at the GlassBuild America trade show in Atlanta this September.

Veka’s president and CEO, Joe Peilert, states, "Thankfully, our industry is back in a growth and hiring mode. We frequently hear from our customers that it is difficult to find and develop employees with high potential. VEKA Academy's seminar: Windows and Doors - Foundation for Success is designed to give their team members access to know-how and networking opportunities that make them more productive and motivated."
