Andersen Foundation Helping Tornado Victims

June 4, 2013

The Andersen Corporate Foundation is donating $25,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief organization to help provide food, shelter and emotional support for those affected by the recent tornadoes that touched down in Oklahoma.

“While an act of nature like a tornado can do its damage in mere minutes, rebuilding and recovery can take months and years,” says Keith Olson, president of the window and door manufacturer's foundation. “It’s our hope that this donation will help speed that process, and help the people and communities affected in Oklahoma rebuild.”

The Andersen Corporate Foundation has a long history of charitable support for disaster recovery in communities across North America. Over the past decade, the foundation has contributed nearly $2.5 million to aid disaster recovery efforts from Red River Valley flooding, to hurricanes Sandy, Katrina and Rita, to tornadoes in Joplin and Tuscaloosa, as well as earthquake victims in Haiti, it reports.
