Crystal Window Contributes to Earthquake Relief

June 1, 2008

The recent earthquake in the Sichuan Province of China hit home for the employees at Crystal Window & Door in Flushing, N.Y. Together employees pooled their resources and donated several thousand dollars, and the company matched their donations for a total of $9,000. Isabella Leung, the company's manager of human resources, presented the funds to the American Red Cross of Greater New York on June 26 at the company's headquarters. "The China earthquake tragedy hit home for Crystal since a majority of our employees are Asian," Leung says. "Although Crystal employees have their own bills to pay and families to support, they all wanted to do something to help those suffering in China. This donation reflects the spirit of the people at Crystal-hardworking, eager to help others however they can."
Crystal also reports that for the 10th year in a row, it has been named to Crain's New York Business annual list of the New York area's largest minority-owned companies.
