Crystal's Chen Named to Fed Advisory Group

December 14, 2009

Steve Chen of Crystal Window & Door Systems has accepted an invitation to join the Advisory Council on Small Business to the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The group provides a forum to informally share insights on economic and financial conditions affecting small and mid-size businesses in the region and the nation as a whole.

“I am extremely honored to be asked to serve as an advisor to such an important and prestigious institution as the New York Federal Reserve Bank,” says Chen, who serves as executive vice president of the Flushing, N.Y.-based window manufacturer. “I will certainly do my best to convey to the Federal Reserve leadership the key issues and concerns of smaller businesses. I am also pleased that the Fed leaders value the views of businesses such as Crystal, especially in these very challenging economic times.”

The 10-member council meets a minimum of three times per year and members serve for a term of three years. A broad cross section of smaller and mid-size businesses from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Puerto Rico are represented.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is one of 12 regional reserve banks, which together with the Board of Governors and Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve chairman, in Washington, D.C., make up the United States Federal Reserve System.
