Pella Windows Featured at Epcot House

Designed to showcase the latest in green building technologies, the Vision House at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center feature Pella windows, incorporating the manufacturer's SmartSync technology. Opening April 22 in honor of Earth Day, the project will not only feature smart phone enabled window shades, it will include electric vehicle charging stations, smog-eating roof tiles and many other technologies expected to be part of the home of the future.

“As an industry leader dedicated to innovation and energy savings, Pella is excited to be part of this new exhibit that creates a fun, engaging experience to teach people how to make sustainable, energy-efficient choices in their own homes,” says Polly Tousey, Pella strategic programs manager.

Described as an experiental exhibit, the Vision House is part of Innoventions at Epcot.  It was created by Walt Disney Imagineering in collaboration with Green Builder Media to hghlight major themes of green building, including whole-home automation; energy generation and efficiency; water conservation, indoor environment quality; plus high-performance materials and durability, officials explain.

The Designer Series windows in the home feature buit-in shades and blinds. The exhibit showcases how Pella SmartSync technology enables a home automation system to automatically raise and lower window shades or blinds to help conserve energy.
