PGT Industries announced that Dean Ruark, PGT code compliance manager, received the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s Residential Products Group Distinguished Service Award, presented at the 77th Annual Conference Awards Banquet in Orlando. This award is presented to an individual who accomplishes formative work on behalf of the association and the Residential Products Group, the company reports.

“Dean is relatively new to AAMA,” says Kim Flanary, president of the AAMA Residential Products Group. “His first national meeting was just four years ago, but in that short time he has certainly made his mark.”

Ruark currently leads five committees and task groups and is a member of 29 total, spanning diverse topics including regional issues, code-related concerns, education, and green/sustainability specifications. Most notably, Ruark is currently serving on the Code Action Committee and is instrumental in developing code change proposals for the International Codes, as well as the Florida Building Codes. He also serves as vice president of the AAMA Southeast Region.
