World Vision Honors Soft-Lite

May 17, 2011

Soft-Lite LLC, the manufacturer of replacement windows and doors, has been honored by World Vision with a 2010 Humanitarian Award. The Streetsboro, Ohio, company was recognized for donating windows and doors to the Christian humanitarian organization on a consistent basis since 2009.

“Soft-Lite donates excellent products that we are proud to use anywhere in our system," says Mary Garcia corporate relations director for World Vision."We help the neediest of the needy and Soft-Lite's donations make a huge difference to those individuals.”

Soft-Lite's donations go to eight areas in the United States that are the most impoverished and where the people are most needy, Garcia reports. The last group of windows Soft-Lite donated went into a home where the children's bedroom windows were broken and the family was trying to make it through a brutal winter. “Those windows were a Godsend to that family,” she notes.

“At Soft-Lite we maintain a philosophy of corporate social responsibility,” says Roy Anderson, president. “Basically, we believe in taking responsibility for our actions and always try to positively impact our employees, communities, and the environment as a whole. Therefore, we are pleased to be recognized by World Vision and are very proud to receive this award.”
