FMA Reschedules Meeting Due to Ike

September 10, 2008
With Hurricane Ike Making its Way through the Caribbean, the Fenestration Manufacturers Association has rescheduled its fall conference, which was scheduled to begin yesterday in Marco Island, Fla. The meeting is now planned for Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

“We took the prudent approach,” says Dick WIlhem, FMA executive director. “You can’t afford to have people down here and then face a mandatory evacuation.”

The decision was made last Friday, and an email sent to all registered attendees. An announcement was also posted on the FMA Web site.

“The storm is a pretty good size storm and will affect Marco Island. That means the first thing that goes is tourists,” Wilhelm continues. FMA may have to make some adjustments in the agenda, but the rescheduled meeting will still be held at the Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort.
