Soft-Lite to Offer Intelligent Thermostats

July 29, 2013

To help consumers achieve even greater levels of energy efficiency in their homes, Soft-Lite Windows plans to offer the Nest Learning Thermostat in conjunction with its Energy Star-labeled windows and patio doors.  The Ohio-based manufacturer sells its products through a network of specialty dealers and distributors throughout much of the U.S.

The Nest thermostat learns a homeowner's schedule, programs itself and can be controlled from a phone. It creates a personalized schedule based on the temperature changes a person makes and continually adapts to changing lives. The thermostat can also sense when everyone has left the home and automatically adjust the temperature to avoid heating or cooling an empty house, according to company officials.

"We at Soft-Lite are very excited to offer the Nest Learning Thermostat," says Tyson Schwartz, Soft-Lite VP of sales and marketing. "The Nest thermostat is an excellent tool for enhancing a home's energy efficiency, so it fits hand-in-hand with the Energy Star-labeled windows that we manufacture. I believe this offering will be a great benefit to our dealer base."
