Empire Pacific Windows has upgraded the sash locks on its window line.  The new standard PAC (positive action cam) lock, made from an environmentally advanced composite, enables users to move the cam from a locked position through the detent to unlock the window by pressing on the cam, without ever touching the thumb turn, the manufacturer points out. Unlike traditional cam locks where the cam and the thumb turn are joined, the PAC lock contains a secondary internal cam, which slides into place locking the primary cam into position. This secondary cam can only be moved back out of the secure position by the thumb turn of the lock. In addition to enhanced function, the lock offers an upgraded look with a number of contemporary design finishes. Offering modern design and simplicity, the manufacturer's new optional Snaplock is operated with one motion, as the user pulls back the tab and pushes the window open. Then the window locks itself when the user slides it shut.
