Fresh Air Skylight

Ph: 800/283-2831

The “Fresh Air” skylight is equipped with a solar panel that captures daylight to recharge a highly efficient, fully concealed operator and control system, the manufacturer states. From Velux America, the remote-controlled, solar-powered venting skylight does not require wiring, providing for easy and cost-effective installation. The solar panel does not have to be exposed to direct sunlight; it also works on cloudy days and with indirect light. There is an integrated rain sensor to close the skylight automatically in case of inclement weather. Both the product and installation qualify for a 30 percent federal tax credit, meaning that homeowners can receive an average of $850 of federal tax credit eligibility, making the new Fresh Air skylight very affordable–in some cases, less expensive than a fixed skylight or manual fresh air skylight, according to the supplier.
