General Information: With a 90-year history, Hurd Windows & Doors manufactures high-end custom windows and doors for residential new construction, remodeling, and light commercial applications in factories in Medford and Merrill, Wis. Hurd’s products are sold through more than 400 distributors in the United States and Canada and in 20 countries worldwide.

In 2011, the company acquired Superseal Manufacturing Company Inc., a 50-year old manufacturer of quality vinyl windows and patio doors. Moving into 2012, Hurd announced the expansion of the brand to a national reach and relocated its manufacturing facility to Merrill, Wis. Superseal vinyl products can be supplied in an unlimited number of exterior painted colors, and are designed to provide superior energy performance, with such options as Ultra-R glazing.

Hurd is owned by Longroad Asset Management, a Connecticut-based private equity firm, which acquired the manufacturer in 2008. In September 2012, ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer featured the company in a “Made in America” segment, highlighting Hurd for its success in competing on a global basis.
