New Year, New Faces

The WDDA would like to recognize and thank its current Advisory Council member volunteers:

As the new associate director of industry and member engagement for the Window & Door Dealers Alliance, I’m excited for the year ahead and for the opportunity to work with all our dealers.

WDDA—the only national organization dedicated to advancing the interests of window and door dealers—is moving into 2018 with a renewed focus on the value of membership. Following market research and a review of member benefits during the first quarter of this year, our growing membership can expect enhanced and expanded education opportunities to keep members in the know on industry standards and hot topics. The Alliance is also exploring additional marketing and lead generation resources, and valuable benchmarking data to inform our members’ business processes and procedures. Plus, we’re looking to add networking possibilities that allow our community to connect and share ideas with dealers facing similar challenges.

As we look to reshape the future of the WDDA, staff will work closely with all our members, especially our Advisory Council. This council—currently comprised of 10 professionals who stand out as leaders in their respective markets and as passionate industry (see list at right)—will assist in our goal of helping members build more profitable businesses. Rather than serving as a standing committee with regular meetings, the council serves as a talent pool from which smaller, targeted project groups can be formed as needed.

Volunteers are integral to WDDA’s vitality and we depend on the expertise and input of industry professionals to help move the specialty window and door industry forward. In addition to supporting, strengthening and having an impact on your industry, volunteering can be a rewarding experience that allows industry representatives to pass on expertise and knowledge, make new contacts in the industry, learn from industry peers and hone leadership skills. Readers interested in joining the Advisory Council should contact NGA\WDDA at 866/342-5642 ext. 182 or membership@glass.org to learn more.

For those of you with whom I have already spoken, thank you, again, for the warm welcome. I appreciate the feedback and industry information you have shared as we work to make the WDDA more valuable. If we have not yet connected, I welcome your input and can be reached at kgregg@glass.org or 703/442-4890 ext. 175. Best wishes for a very happy 2018. We look forward to achieving great things together in the year ahead.
