The sustained and steady growth of All Weather Architectural Aluminum has resulted in the need to expand its manufacturing facility, operations and capacity. All Weather took the first step toward that goal with a groundbreaking ceremony held at its headquarters and manufacturing facility.

Breaking ground

Lance Porter and his children—the third generation of family ownership—Sarah, Anna, Seamus and Tom took the first shovels of dirt at the event. Representatives from the U.S. Congress, California state senate and California state assembly offices, Vacaville City Council members, and community partners in Solano County were all in attendance.

Designed by RMA Architects and built by Buzz Oates Construction, the 87,000-square-foot expansion will more than double the size of the existing building and is planned for completion in September 2025. All Weather’s new 159,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will feature:

  • Lean manufacturing principles and optimal space planning for increased capacity.
  • Kasto Aluminum bundle compact and vertical storage system for automated material handling, increased safety, efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Linear production flow for increased efficiency and lead times.
  • New fabrication, CNC and assembly equipment for increased consistency and quality.
  • New production offices, showroom and meeting spaces for training events and/or visiting customers.
  • New employee entrance and a new employee breakroom with an outdoor patio space.

What the company has to say

“We are building the expansion of this factory to make this workspace amazing, efficient and safe for our employees,” says Sarah Harper, president, All Weather. “And to prepare our business for the growth that we believe we will achieve over the next 10 years.”

All Weather’s philosophy for success is to continually invest in its future. To build systems and processes that will support growth; to build a team that can design, manufacture and sell its product; and to build facilities and equipment that support its people and processes—making their jobs easier and safer. All Weather’s new facility expansion is the company’s latest example.
