Deceuninck North America has earned recertification from GreenCircle Certified, LLC, a third-party verifier that provides independent evaluations of sustainable products and operations.
What GreenCircle does
GreenCircle evaluated Deceuninck’s PVC window lineals and manufacturing operations in Monroe, OH, to verify sources of recycled materials and identify the degree of recycled content within its supply chain. The company’s claims were independently verified to adhere to ISO 14021, Definition of Recycled Content, and the FTC Green Guides. GreenCircle also analyzed the life cycle of Deceuninck’s PVC window lineals and verified the products as closed loop according to CFR 261.4(a)(8). This applies to all of Deceuninck’s primary window extrusions, including colonial white, sandstone, and clay colors.
What the company says
“Certification from a third party validates our claims of the recycled content in our window lineals and of our sustainability mission overall,” says Joren Knockaert, president and CEO of Deceuninck North America. “Our customers rely on us to provide eco-friendly products for residential and commercial construction throughout the continent, and GreenCircle certification serves as an essential proof point on this front.”
Deceuninck's sustainability efforts
Deceuninck’s recycling program collects end cuts and other scraps from fabricator partners and reintroduces the content back into its manufacturing process. By doing so, the organization reclaims unused product that would likely otherwise end up in the waste stream.
The recent GreenCircle recertifications are just one component of Deceuninck’s larger goal to operate as a more environmentally friendly organization, which also includes a commitment to reduce its CO2 emissions by 60% by 2030. The long-term goal is to operate at net zero by the year 2050.
The Deceuninck North America GreenCircle certifications are in effect through April 2024.
