FGIA Updates Specification for Rotary, Linear Operations in Window Applications

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance updated a specification establishing methods of test cover procedures, materials and performance criteria for determining the durability of gear type rotary and linear operating devices used for opening and closing casement, awning, jalousie, jal-awning and other similar types of windows. Rotary and linear operators are hardware components used to open and close the operable sash of casement, awning, jalousie, jal-awning and similar type windows. The purpose of this document is to establish a method for characterization of the performance of operators as well as defining the method(s) by which these characteristics are to be tested.
