GED Integrated Solutions introduces the "Intelligent Automation blog" and new Frequently Asked Questions page, a comprehensive knowledgebase for window and door manufacturers looking for answers to insulating glass (IG), vinyl window fabrication systems or software questions.
These new communication approaches were prompted by feedback from the GED sales team as they traveled to customer manufacturing facilities.
“Today’s customers are more educated than ever before; and research shows that much of the buying decision has already been completed before talking to sales,” says John Moore, VP of marketing at GED. “We want to understand what customers are asking and provide them with the answers to those questions as honestly as possible. Not only will this give the customer a better experience, but it will give our sales team more qualified customers who truly can benefit from our IG and vinyl window production systems and software.”
GED says the company makes it a priority to provide content on topics like automation and robotics, manufacturing software, industry equipment features and benefits, preventative maintenance techniques, productivity and quality improvements, and the overall window, door and glass manufacturing process.
“We asked ourselves, ‘What do I want to know before purchasing a product?’ and ‘What do I need to do to maintain this product?’ We use that information to present product, maintenance, and production knowledge a customer would want to read as they research solutions to manufacturing needs and consider future investments,” says Laura Fiegelist, marketing communications coordinator.
Blogs have been around for a while, but as more and more people rely on the internet for research, news, and communication, the importance of utilizing this communication channel just made sense, according to Fiegelist. She describes the approach taken in setting up the online knowledgebase. “We wanted to create a platform where customers were encouraged to submit their questions and concerns about production capacity, throughput, software optimization, robotic automation—anything they want to know—to be transparent and present credible research.”
GED defines “Intelligent Automation” as the combination of machinery automation with human innovation. Not only is it GED's tagline, but it is also part of the mission for the business.
Visitors can submit their questions for GED to answer in the form of blog posts and/or to appear on GED’s new FAQs page of the website. The page will eventually house FAQs for each of GED’s products and services as content is developed. FAQs for a particular product or service will also be listed on their page.
“We're always looking to improve and having a blog and FAQs page is a great way to further enhance our customer service experience,” adds Fiegelist.
