Masonite Donates Over $118,000 to Community Organizations
In the fall of 2021, Masonite launched the We Help People Walk Through Walls community grant program to help focus on its company purpose. It invites employees to submit funding requests for organizations and causes they care most about in the communities where they live and work. Grants recipients are selected quarterly by a committee of 12 Masonite employees across the globe.
Who has benefitted
In the program’s first year, Masonite granted $118,550 to 37 organizations in the United States, UK, Mexico and Chile. Grant-supported programs include:
- Job skills training for refugee women in Georgia
- Supporting a program that installs energy-efficient solutions for families in Cabrero, Chile
- The purchase of listening devices such as hearing aids for children in Florida whose families who cannot afford them and materials to build beds for children in need in Wisconsin
- Funds to build educational and wheelchair accessible community for those with exceptional needs in Florida
- Supporting children and families undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Mexico.
As Masonite heads into the company’s second year of the program, the company intends to support more than 200 organizations in local communities.
