A team member at window manufacturer MI Windows and Doors’ Hegins, Pennsylvania, facility recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The affected team member was last at work on Friday, March 13, began experiencing symptoms on Sunday, March 15, and did not return to work.
Upon notification of the positive test result on Saturday evening (March 21), MI contacted an expert remediation contractor to analyze the situation. Based on the time since the team member was last at work along with MI’s cleaning practices and adherence to Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, the remediation contractor considered the work area safe to occupy.
“We will continue supporting the affected team member as they recover from this virus at home with their family,” says Mike DeSoto, MI CEO. “I’m confident in our approach to dealing with the risks associated with COVID-19 and providing our team with tools and resources to make safe and practical decisions about how we lead our business during these trying times.”
