NGA Announces GlassBuild Connect Keynote Speaker Jorma Vitkala

Glass industry veteran Jorma Vitkala, who recently retired from Glass Performance Days, will deliver GlassBuild Connect's keynote presentation. The session, Global Glass Industry Trends, will explore how the global glass industry has evolved, innovated and changed in recent decades. Vitkala will share his insights about the transformative trends in the industry—from glass design, performance, processing and more. It will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. ET and is free to attend. Attendees can register at GlassBuild.com.

During his tenure as the Glass Performance Days originator and chairman since 1992, Vitkala has curated and facilitated over 3,200 technical presentations that have been shared at 16 conferences in Finland and other regional venues.

“I’ve had the honor of presenting at GPD, and NGA has participated in this important conference since its inception,” says Urmilla Sowell, advocacy and technical director at the National Glass Association. “He’s a visionary with a wealth of global knowledge for the glass and glazing industry. We’re delighted that he’s agreed to come out of retirement for GlassBuild Connect as the venue for his final presentation."

GlassBuild America, ranked in the top 100 U.S. trade shows, will connect buyers with more than 330 sellers for the entire month of September.
