Chris Dimou, Roto North America’s president and CEO, delivered opening remarks for the South-Central Manufacturing Industry Partnership's quarterly event on Oct. 12. The event coincided with Roto North America’s celebration of Manufacturing Day throughout the month of October. This coalition is an industry-led regional sector partnership focused on growing and supporting the manufacturing industry in the South-Central region of Connecticut. The partnership was created in response to the Connecticut Governor’s Workforce Council’s prioritization of regional sector partnerships as a way to harness the economic power of critical jobs sectors and better coordinate public support for those sectors.
As a co-chair of this partnership, Dimou highlighted how “manufacturers like us are faced with pressing questions related to keeping our employees safe, ensuring workforce development, the talent pipeline, supply chain management and a myriad of other topics. It is clear that no single organization can effectively manage all of this alone. We must join with our industry partners as well as business and community organizations, to collectively navigate the challenges that are ahead.”
By working with other industry leaders in the region, it is the hope that members of this collaboration can “collectively address issues related to talent management, promoting manufacturing and the competitive cost topography.” The goal of coming together in this partnership is that each member will reap the benefits of shared knowledge as well as aiding the industry as a whole, according to a release from Roto.
