West Africa Native Finds Stability, Meaning at MI Windows and Doors

Searching for a new place to live, Farid Igue pulled out a map and found more than a new hometown. He credits his 17-year career at MI Windows and Doors to the company culture that puts people first and aims to treat employees like family.

A native of Benin in West Africa, Igue, 41, first came to the U.S. for school. After settling in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2005, Igue heard good things about MI Windows and Doors, a local company that was growing and needed manufacturing team members.

“I was looking for a job, and the pay was good,” Igue said. He started on the manufacturing line and became a production supervisor in 2018. “I’m comfortable here, and MI has been like family to me.”

Igue enjoys the challenges each day brings, and the planning required to ensure his team members have what they need each day to do their jobs.

Another benefit of working at MI is the company’s philanthropic focus. Under the MI Charitable Foundation, Igue joins other team members in lending a hand at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg.

“Giving back is important to me and it’s important to a lot of my fellow team members as well,” he said.
