The Mickey is designed to improve sealing capabilities by extending the surface area of contact. As its ears are compressed, they splay outward to increase the sealing surface area of contact. In its uncompressed state, the ears are close to the side width of the bulb to ensure the seal doesn’t interfere with the sill dam leg or other structures. Lower compression load deflection forces reduce the force needed to close the sash, and the FenShield polyethylene skin is designed to slide easily and resist binding or tearing when the sash is tilted or slid.
