GED Integrated Solutions has been a major player at GlassBuild America, the annual glass, window, and door expo, for many years in September in Las Vegas and Atlanta. As the world faces a global pandemic, tradeshows transition to a new venue, and GED will participate in these new events, including GlassBuild Connect and Glass Expo VE.
The live GlassBuild America trade show, scheduled in Las Vegas for September of 2020, has been canceled due to COVID-19 health and travel regulations. A different kind of trade show will take place online and continue for a month. This virtual event, called GlassBuild Connect, connects buyers and sellers, attendees, and exhibitors online where products can be showcased, and educational events are broadcast. According to GlassBuild.com, starting Sept. 1, registered visitors to the site can view and connect with others to learn about thousands of products and services from nearly 350 of the industry’s leading glass and fenestration suppliers.
“It is crucial during this global pandemic to seek out networking opportunities and continue to build relationships with customers and other industry professionals,” says John Moore, vice president – marketing. “We are grateful that the fenestration industry, glass and glazing community, and manufacturing and construction industries are offering these types of networking, product promotion, and educational events suppliers and customers can utilize to maintain key connections to keep operations running, with the ultimate goal of seeing our customers succeed,” he says.
GED will feature the Intercept 2.5 Spacer Fabrication System, along with the newest sealant and desiccant application system, SmartExtruder+. GED’s RoboFlow PT automated robotic pass through system for vinyl welding and cleaning will also be on exhibit showing the power of four robotic heads in vinyl window production. The newest member of the RoboClean family, RoboClean Sash (RC2000-S), offers a sash option for vinyl corner cleaning technology, and will be introduced for the first time at the virtual event. The RFID innovation in software technology for manufacturing, WinTrax intelligent logistics system, shows visitors the potential for an organized, completely transparent window manufacturing facility with the use of custom RFID tags and gateways to track window assembly components. WinTrax won the Window + Door Award for “Most Innovative Technology” in 2019.
GED will exhibit the same five products at Glass Expo VE.
“Bridging the gap between virtual and in-person product demonstrations will be an adjustment all exhibitors will find challenging in some way or another,” says Tony DiFiore, software R&D manager. “We are all now forced to push our creativity and find new ways of communicating our products and technology, and it’s interesting to see how everyone is doing that through these virtual events.”
