The Charlotte Business Journal, citing city documents, reports that Windsor Windows and Doors has proposed building a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Monroe, North Carolina, where it currently operates a 200,000-square-foot factory with a staff of 330 workers. The project could cost as much as $100 million and create up to 185 new jobs. The company also conducts manufacturing operations at its Iowa headquarters.
According to the Journal, Monroe officials were considering financial incentives to support the project, along with the sale of more than 80 acres of land at a city business park to the manufacturer’s developer.
The documents showed that an economic development grant could allocate more than $1.5 million to the company, provided it meets investment goals, including $30 million in spending in the first year and $50 million within seven years.
