Punching System

The Simultaneous Punching System perforates several points at once with fast and accurate results. Each compact punching unit is designed for heavy-duty continuous work with a press force of up to 1.5 tons. The units slide smoothly with a soft finger touch and can be locked in any position set by a measuring tape, according to the company, which reports the system has a failsafe fully pneumatic interface “Plug N Punch” with no need for electricity, oil refills or maintenance. One foot lever activates up to eight pneumatic units at once in a fraction of a second.

The new machine combines the functionality of larger models with a compact design of 9.84 feet machining length. Although it requires little space in production, the 3-axis profile machining center offers full functionality for routing, drilling and notching.

The SAC-845 automates the application of screen mesh to a pre-assembled screen frame. Users can use barcode scanning or direct ERP input to identify the screen frame, automatically choose and apply the correct screen mesh, then insert the screen spline and trim excess perimeter screen mesh. The estimated typical cycle time for a 24- by 36-inch window screen frame is approximately 35 seconds including all handling, according to company officials. Model SAC-855 can accommodate larger sizes, such as 48- by 96-inch patio doors, as well as smaller window sizes.

Unique to its class, the FuseCube Express can treat 1 to 5 lites in under 10 minutes and has a minimal footprint (5 by 6 feet) that can meet the demands of both small and larger-sized fabricators, according to the company. The machine also includes a touch screen monitor, built-in evacuation system, multi-run cartridge system, real-time monitoring, and backup systems.

GED’s CleanCut 1800 Series of glass cutting tables—which includes a cutting-only model (1800) and an edge deletion and cutting model (1800-D)—complements the CleanCut 1700 Series. It is scaled to accommodate larger glass at a maximum of 96 by 130 inches (244 by 330 centimeters). The systems combine patented technologies in hardware and software that allow customers to produce more insulating glass units in a shift, more efficiently and at higher quality, say company officials. Programmable cutting and deletion force uses electro-pneumatic actuation to deliver precise amounts of pressure for each glass stock resulting in reduced glass waste due to breakage, improved scoring and deletion quality and reduced operations disruption, according to the company.
