Troy William Baker, vice president of sales for Panda Windows & Doors, passed away on May 31, 2024.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey, and originally from Haledon, New Jersey, he resided in Las Vegas, Nevada. Baker was an accomplished and well-respected sales and business change leader. His career was marked by excellence in leadership in every industry he touched.
Besides his work at Panda, he served as vice chair on of the board of directors for the Ammonia Safety & Training Institute, where he conducted more than 10,000 facility safety audits and engineered the largest ammonia monitoring system in North America. He also served as an international refrigeration subject matter expert as a division manager at Honeywell Analytics.
A proud United States Army NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical protection) officer, Baker's military associations were a significant and instrumental part of his life. After high school, he began at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina where he was recognized and held leadership ranks of Battalion and Regimental Staff. During Operation Desert Storm, he served as a First Lieutenant with the 419th Water Dawgs, the highest-rated water battalion in the U.S. Army.
An enthusiastic sports fan (Mets, Jets, Rangers, Knicks and Notre Dame), a music and concert lover, and a lifelong learner, he constantly challenged himself both professionally, personally and physically. He pushed everyone around him to be their best selves, and did whatever it took to provide the opportunities for others to do so.
Known for his caring nature and generosity, Baker was passionate about his family and friends. A loving husband to Jessica Glenn-Baker and a devoted father to William (age 22), Wesley (age 20), Raquel (age 19), Wynston (age 5) and Whitney (age 1), he is survived by his mother, Diana Baker, his sister Sloane Baker, and his nephew Brooks Baker. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard William Baker.
